Draw with the code

18. January 2021 from 18:00 until 20:00

Online workshop

By creating varied visual drawings or animations we get to know the basic concepts of programming and programming languages and drawing on a computer screen. What are variables, conditional statements, strings, and functions? How to use them to draw, design, animate and paint shapes on the screen?
The workshop will use the open source programming language Processing, which was created for computer sketching and programming learning, but has been developed/used into an intermedia development tool also. At the workshop, participants will start with basic commands and gradually and with understanding build more complex programs, so it is also suitable for those without programming experience or computer knowledge. The aim of the workshop is to show that programming is not a skill that requires innate skills or a fascination with computers, but can be grabbed by just about anyone – and have creative fun.
