17. January 2022 at 17:00

Workshop for young people from the age of 12 in the Miran Jarc Library, Novo mesto

Young people from the age of twelve are invited to join us at the workshop entitled LIDAR-3D, which will be held under the leadership of the BridA art collective on Monday, January 17, 2021 between 4 and 7 pm in the Miran Jarc Library (BeRi classroom) .

The workshop focuses on the use of the latest technologies, which we observe in the so-called smart devices and unmanned vehicles. It touches on a specific area of LIDAR technology, which means 3D light perception of the environment using laser beams. The workshop enables the introduction of new technology, which, together with its practical use in the digitization of the environment, represents a great creative and artistic potential.

Participants will be able to experience how reality or objects are transferred to the virtual world with the help of technology, where many possibilities of creative manipulation open up, which allows objects to be easily changed and placed in different environments.
Participants will learn how 3D scanners work with the help of LIDAR technology. They will also face a critical look at how the implementation of new technologies affects our daily lives, in the light of the digitization of reality to achieve different economic goals.
