An adventure in creative tools is an introductory meeting of an art residency with Václav Peloušek ≡ how to turn a DIY idea into a final product.
As part of a two-month art residency in the partner organization osmo / zi, artist and developer of modular sound synthesizers Václav Peloušek, in close cooperation with the local community, will lead the development of a new creative tool. The aim of the residency is to actively involve a group of participants in the overall process of making a useful art product – from the idea to the final product, which can also serve the community as a potential source of income.
Development process
It covers the following steps: designing the basic idea, designing interfaces, prototyping, drawing schematics, making and ordering printed circuit boards, BOM design, writing the Arduino library, testing, documentation & tutorials, DIY kit production, workshop format design and presentation product.
Václav’s basic idea is to develop an Arduino-based sensory tool called The Sensor Synth that can be used for a variety of purposes, from sound creation to interactive installations or theatrical performances. However, this is only an initial idea – so you are invited to join him at the introductory presentation, where we will talk about the needs, desires and communities of interest, and together try to come up with an idea for product development.
Join us
At the introductory meeting on May 19, at 5 pm (we meet before 8 am and head towards Tivoli Park), Václav will present his product proposal and talk about his own experience of developing synths within Bastl Instruments. We will then work together to design the concept and workflow and establish a community project timeline. You do not need any prior knowledge to participate, only the desire to actively participate, learn and share knowledge!
